Historical Background

Arunachal Pradesh, known as the "Land of the Rising Sun," is historically and culturally rich. Tawang Monastery, established in the 17th century, is one of the largest Buddhist monasteries in India. The region has been a site of historical significance due to its proximity to the India-China border, and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial stands as a tribute to the soldiers of the Indo-China War of 1962.
